Fellowship With God

Fellowship With GodGod desires our fellowship (An example is in Exodus 25:8 NIV; Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them). That is why he created us. Does this make God needy? Certainly not, for God does not need anything. But we are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27 NIV; 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth,  and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.) and as humans do we not seek out the comfort and assurance in the companionship of a trusted loved one; a family member, or a close friend to share the common journey we call life with? The answer is most emphatically YES we do!

Who among us has not found comfort in the fellowship of a best friend even to the extent that often words do not have to be spoken to convey that fellowship? It is the same fellowship that God desires from us; a trust and personal connection as with a best friend. The difference is that the fellowship with God is with our maker, resulting in the ultimate connection.

As with a best friend that fellowship is felt within our hearts even if no verbal communication is exchanged. Spend time then brothers and sisters in Christ, in fellowship with your best friend God.
